DCX.AE

I proposed and developed DCX’s corporate website to showcase completed work and help prospective clients move from exploring services to requesting a site inspection or quote. I also worked on the Linux infrastructure supporting the site and company email.

From past work to a new enquiry

Prospective clients can start with a service, browse related examples in the project portfolio, and contact DCX about their own property. The portfolio includes projects such as a villa roof leak investigation and a balcony waterproofing repair, giving visitors concrete examples of the work DCX handles.

HTTPS and reverse-proxy setup

Visitor → Cloudflare → Nginx → OpenLiteSpeed

I configured HTTPS redirects and set up a Cloudflare Origin Certificate for the web origin. Cloudflare handles the browser-facing HTTPS connection, and the origin certificate supports TLS on the connection from Cloudflare to the server. Nginx routes incoming requests to OpenLiteSpeed, which serves the WordPress site. I validated the site over HTTPS after configuring the redirects.

Mail certificates and encrypted connections

I worked on certificates for the website, mail, and autodiscover hostnames and troubleshot certificate mismatches. Server Name Indication (SNI) lets a client identify the requested hostname during the TLS handshake so the server can present the matching certificate.

I validated encrypted mail connectivity on IMAP port 993 and SMTP submission ports 465 and 587. Postfix handles SMTP submission and Dovecot provides IMAP access. Port 587 can upgrade a connection to TLS with STARTTLS, while ports 465 and 993 start with TLS.

Server hardening with Fail2Ban

I worked on Fail2Ban configuration and planning for the Linux VPS. A Fail2Ban jail pairs a log filter with a ban action. When repeated authentication failures from an IP cross the configured threshold, the action can temporarily block that address.

The hardening review covered SSH, Postfix SMTP authentication, Dovecot IMAP authentication, and web login endpoints. These were services I evaluated for protection.

Search visibility

Across consecutive three-month periods, historical Google Search Console exports showed clicks rising from 30 to 46, an increase of 53.3%. Search impressions rose from 1,602 to 3,061, an increase of 91.1%.

The results showed improved visibility for service pages covering waterproofing, leak investigation, and roofing. My work supported technical optimization alongside HTTPS configuration, Cloudflare integration, and Linux server administration.

I supported technical SEO work alongside the website build. The public site shows how the content is organized for discovery. A dedicated waterproofing page, for example, has a descriptive title, service-specific headings, and a readable URL. Those elements help visitors and search engines identify what the page covers. The project portfolio then provides examples that prospective clients can use to evaluate the company’s work.
